Grades 9-12: Teaching with Tools
Date: November 3, 2016
This session focuses on those tools we can use in our classes—both digital and analog—to help students think with greater complexity and clarity when they read, write, or discuss topics or texts. The session will focus as much on those tools the teacher can use as those students should use when thinking at progressively deeper levels. The session will emphasize how to apply these tools and develop others to meet teachers’ needs in their classes. Though not a primary focus of the session, we will consider the roll of iPad and Google apps and how those can be used to support teachers and students throughout the reading, writing, and research processes.
