Grades 9-12: Adolescent Literacy Workshop
Date: November 2, 2016
Participants in this session will learn to apply ideas from design-thinking to their own work and those samples provided. The session draws on an extended study of assignments collected from the last several years from a wide range of teachers to better understand the relationship between the complexity of the tasks students are assigned and the clarity of those assignments themselves. This workshop will ask participants to examine their assignments to better understand how they align with college and career readiness standards and challenge students to do work that consistently engages and challenges all students in ways that improve their reading and writing skills.
